NorDig releases NorDig TVA Genre list v.1.1 (September 2020)
NorDig Genre list version. 1.1 is a specification of NorDig TV-Anytime content genre based on TV-Anytime Content CS list, meant as a help to broadcasters and other content providers to standardize the genre classification of content to secure correct presentation of programs/content across languages, platforms and countries.
Background:
The NorDig Genre List have been made on of basis, that today there is a use of different content genre standards (or non) and different translation of genre wording between the Nordic and Irish language and English which causes programs to be presented incorrectly and users do not get correct program information. NorDig therefor decided to develop this Genre list to support better EPG /Event metadata quality across platforms and between different languages.
Scope:
The document contains translation of TV-Anytime (TVA) content genre wording (TVA ContentCS) from English to Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Irish languages, and mapping to DVB genre.
The TVA ContentCS used in the document is a subset of the TVA ContentCS specification based on a specification made by NRK and agreed in NorDig EPG/Event metadata Group as a useful genre list that will covering the essential needs for content genre classification.
If you don’t find the needed genre/ContentCS in this NorDig Genre list you may try alternatively to look in the TVA ContentCS list.
